TEK9 has published their Call of Duty 4 Top Ten for August.
After they have performed well at the Sapphire Challenge and won AEF, Power Gaming is first with 127 points. In second place is H2k Gaming with only three points behind Power. Following them are fnatic with 119 points, Dignitas with 107 and Reason Gaming with 75 points.
After the news of a Battlefield 2 Nations Cup 2010 came a few weeks ago with support from none other than DICE, Reason's Andrew "Hk2" Holt-Kenwell was announced as the United Kingdom team captain for this event which will begin Sunday 12th September.
Also in the squad is former Reason player Paul "She11shock" Grosvenor who looks to bring his squad leading and heavy fragging skills into the mix.
Perhaps two of the most exciting announcements concerning this Nations Cup was the response by DICE on their Battlefield Blog that the final would be held at the DICE studios in Stockholm, Sweden, with the company offering a live stream and after party as well.
The second juicy piece of information is the return of Rikard "The-Swede" Franzén to European shoutcasting for the event which many Battlefield fans feel will provide a much needed boost to the already small community that remains. If you've never heard of TheSwede, check out the video below for an insight:
Shoutcasting rights to all games this year have been given to RushZoneTV who very successfully handled the event last year as well as a number of other cups and leagues for the game. TheSwede will be appearing on Sundays at RushZoneTV so be sure to tune in.
Thanks to the massive publicity to the event courtesy of Zh1nt0, DICE Battlefield community manager, this year will see teams such as the United States, Saudi Arabia and South Africa compete at the Electronic Sports League tournament. I'm sure everyone looks forward to seeing how they and the other European teams compete. Best of luck to all participants!
On Thursday at 19:00 GMT Reason.CSS play their first game in the ESL Pro Series Nordic against local rivals gosu.
This match will be the teams first official under the Reason tag, and we wish them the best of luck. One point of interest is that FeTiSh will face up against his old Reason team mate c0bain, which should be fun.
***UPDATE*** gosu postponed the game to Sunday at 19:00 CET.
Our brand new CSS player Troels "eXce" Kierulff has been interviewed over at Cadred in relation to such topics as his comeback to CSS, his hopes for the future, his thoughts on the updates in CSS and many other subjects.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
First things first, you've been out of the game for a hell of a long time, so how did the move to join the Reason Gaming team come about?
Well basicly I just started off playing for fun again, Danni asked me to play a few mixes and gathers. From that it just took me away again, I got the whole excitement back when playing which I think is a big part of the game. As it turned out that there was a split as said in the danish scene as fetish, victor and wantz needed 2 players, when we asked about it I had no idea who they had spoken to or not, but, we got a shot at it, and passed it seems :-P
Tomorrow afternoon two of our new CSS team Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen and Bo "wantz" Vestergaard will be at Gamescom in Cologne to compete for their Country in the Asus ENC 2010 Finals by ESL.
They will be playing for Team Denmark alongside Steffen "3k2" Markussen, Lars "h0lm" Jespersen and Kristoffer "gravity" Søholm and will take on France in the Semi Final, with the winner facing either United Kingdom or Germany in the Grand Final.
We would like to wish the guys the best of luck and hope they bring home the Gold for Denmark.
